88th Birthday Memories

I's so glad to have this time to say
what a wonderful father you are.

The word "step father" has never been appropriate
because you are so much more.

All the good that you have done
I could never speak them all.

But here are just a very few
that I must recall-

Like taking us to the beach each year
and putting up with all of us "females".

An waiting patiently in the car
while we do things like "paint out fingernails".

Cooking out for us on the weekends
and your famous "fish fries".

Or bringing home barbecue...
carb legs, shrimp or pie.

And when your ganddaughters were born,
you loved them so.

I remember once you brought us groceries and diapers
when we were stranded in the snow.

So many things that you have done
in so many special ways-

And I just want to say thank you
and wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
