****UPDATE****

The Comprehensive Plan has been compiled and is now at the state level awaiting final approval. It will then have to be approved by the voters of Stockton Springs. The ordinances will then have to be updated.

WHAT IS A COMPREHENSIVE TOWN PLAN?

A comprehensive town plan is the PEOPLE of Stockton Springs' "DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE". This plan will provide access to state funding and choices on how our community will develop economically, culturally, and physically; as well as a road map for future growth.

HOW WILL IT AFFECT YOU?

 A Comprehensive Town Plan:

Promotes development to try to lower the property tax rate without loss of service.

Supports economic development with particular emphasis on maritime and agriculture.

Promotes an economic climate that increases job opportunities of substantial quality and overall well being for all.

Gives citizens a choice through long term planning.

Maintains a commitment to quality education for all ages.

Supports improvement of public utilities (i.e. electric, telephone, cable, water, sewage).

Encourages orderly growth and development in appropriate areas, while protecting our rural character, property values, and natural resources.
